Audi's Electric SUV Lineup Receives Top IIHS Ratings/Audi's four electric crossovers and SUVS all achieved IIHS's top safety ratings.

In 2019, Audi delivered its first electric SUV, the e-tron, to the United States market. While not the king of the range department, the e-tron proved itself as a solid, luxurious, and safe EV. Since the original e-tron, Audi has altered its EV lineup significantly. The four-ringed automaker now offers four electric crossovers and SUVs: the Q4 e-tron, Q4 e-tron Sportback, Q8 e-tron, and the Q8 e-tron Sportback. For the 2023 model year, the  Q4  and Q8 e-tron lineup received the op Safety Pick+ award from the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety). This safety rating means these vehicles received "good" ratings in every crashworthiness test. The only area in which these vehicles missed out was on lower trims regarding the headlights. In this case, they received "acceptable" instead of "good." Nevertheless, these ratings show that  Audi  can translate its high level of safety from its internal combustion vital products to its electric ones. An elevate...

2023 Lexus RZ Review: Lovely But Lacking/The RZ has a handsome cabin, but with only 220 miles of range, it falls behind Audi and Volvo.

Image
Lexus was one of the first luxury automakers to introduce hybridization with the RX400h in 2005. But the company has been slower than others to reach full electrification, with the 2023 RZ being its first EV. It rides on the Toyota bZ4X platform and sits snugly between the gas NX and RX models in terms of sizing. On the one hand, the  RZ  does many  Lexus  things exceptionally well: It’s comfortable, it has great ride quality, and the technology is among the best in the business. But on the other hand, it sort of flops as an EV with just 220 miles of range in the most capable model and just 196 miles on the fancier trim. That puts the RZ well behind some of its chief competitors already – and it’s brand new. A vehicle's ratings are relative only to its own segment and not the new-vehicle market as a whole. Rivian Limits Warranty For Dual Motor R1T And R1S Vehicles Rivian reduces its 5-year basic warranty to 4-years when opting for the lower-priced Dual Motor R1T and R1S.

Rivian offers some of the most intriguing electric vehicles on the market. The R1T and R1S both offer excellent off-road capabilities and supercar-rivaling performance. Along with their impressive specs, Quad-Motor Rivians come with a substantial warranty. All Quad-Motor Rivian R1T and R1S vehicles come with a basic warranty lasting five years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. This puts Rivian in the upper echelon in terms of basic warranties. Kia, Genesis, Mitsubishi, Hyundai, and Jaguar are the only other automakers offering a basic warranty to this magnitude.   The Quad-Motor variants also have an eight-year or 175,000-mile battery and drivetrain warranty. The federal government mandates eight years or 100,000 miles, so Rivian's covers 75 percent more mileage. While the Quad-Motor warranties are notable, the less expensive Dual-Motor Rivians come with a more restricted warranty. Dual-Motor Rivian R1T and R1S vehicles have a basic warranty lasting four years or 50,000 miles...
